Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for the annual Member Appreciation Dinner at the Sidney Legion Club! We had a great meal prepared by the Fremont County Cattlemen's Association and Sidney Foods and served by our FCFB board members.

A new addition to this year’s event was Ag Trivia, with 9 teams participating! Congratulations to team Buckin’ Broncs for walking away as the 2026 Ag Trivia winners!

We appreciate all of our members and look forward to celebrating with you all again next year! 🎉

Rounding out our newest Young Farmer Advisory Committee members, please help us welcome Zachary and Ashlyn Elliott, who will represent District 9. Learn more about the Elliotts below or on our website!

Zachary and Ashlyn live and farm near Carson in Pottawattamie County. Together, they run a spring‑calving beef cow herd of Angus‑cross cows and put up hay to support their operation while also selling hay during the summer. Zachary farms with Ashlyn’s dad and grandpa, growing and harvesting corn and soybeans, while Ashlyn does accounting and data for Gregory Feedlots. Zachary and Ashlyn were married in September of 2024 and recently had their first baby! The Elliotts joined Farm Bureau in 2023 and come from families with strong Farm Bureau roots. Both received Farm Bureau scholarships while in college and were involved in collegiate Farm Bureau before becoming Iowa members. They have attended the Young Farmer Conference, Ag Insights Tour, and the DC Crop Report Trip, and continue to volunteer at local Farm Bureau events in West Pottawattamie County. Zachary and Ashlyn are excited to serve on the Young Farmer Advisory Committee and look forward to encouraging involvement, connection, and engagement among young farmers across District 9 and the state.

Wear your green and blue, it is 4-H and FFA night at the Sidney Iowa Championship Rodeo! Gates open at 6:00pm and the performance starts at 8:00pm.

Our FCFB board members were up early this morning making pancakes for their sponsored free breakfast at the Fremont County Fair! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello and grab some food! 🥞

On June 23, FCFB Vice President Brent Lorimor welcomed members of the Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA), who were on a bus tour across central and southern Iowa to visit a variety of farms and ag-related businesses, to his farming operation.

ALFA members were able to see how Lorimor feeds out cattle brought to him from across the country, including Alabama. It was a great learning opportunity for the bus tour participants, and an excellent opportunity to highlight a strong agricultural leader in Fremont County!
