‼️ATTENTION‼️ATTENTION‼️ATTENTION‼️
Are you a contractor, subcontractor or vendor interested in doing work on the new $75,000,000.00 downtown state building? Then make plans to attend the Pre-proposal Conference for the recently issued Request For Qualifications for a Construction Manager At Risk (CM@R RFQ) this Wednesday 25 October 2023 at 11am in the basement of the Mary Allen State Building 1525 Fairfield Avenue. The Construction Manager at Risk team that is selected will be responsible for the construction phase of the new state building project.
If you are a certified local DBE contractor interested in working on the project as a joint venture partner, subcontractor or vendor, then be especially advised that according to Roger Husser, head of the Louisiana Office of Facility Planning and Development, “The value of DBE participation has been greatly enhanced throughout the CM@R RFQ as compared to past CM@R RFQs, inclusive of including value for participation in two of the four criteria that the proposals are scored on. I anticipate that the proposers will respond with intents or commitments to participation more so than they have in the past due to the increased value placed on participation and those values being part of the scoring.”
Husser went on to state that, “The pre-proposal conference is an opportunity for all interested contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, etc. to attend and learn about the project. It is also an opportunity for those that will not actually be proposing as a CM@R to learn who will be proposing and perhaps network with them before or following the meeting. The sign-in sheet from the pre-bid meeting can also be made available so subs, suppliers, etc. will know which CM@R contractors are interested in the project so that they might reach out to them to potentially partner with them.”
