Women in Business Member Spotlight:
What inspired you to start your business or enter your current profession?
I’ve always had a passion for helping people feel confident and protected, and I realized that insurance isn’t just about policies — it’s about building relationships, solving problems, and giving people peace of mind. As a woman and a business owner, I wanted to create an agency where clients feel heard, understood, and genuinely cared for, while showing other women that they can thrive as leaders in their own industries. My family was also a huge inspiration for me to branch out on my own — I have two beautiful kiddos and a wonderful husband, and everything I do is fueled by my desire to make them proud and build something lasting for them.
What is your business known for, and what sets it apart from others in your industry?
At the Wicke Agency, we’re known for our personal touch and our relentless commitment to going above and beyond. We don’t just sell insurance — we educate, advocate, and make the process as stress-free as possible. Our clients often tell us they feel like part of our family, and that’s exactly the kind of experience we aim to provide. As a woman-owned business, we also lead with empathy and a client-first approach that sets us apart.
What’s the most rewarding part of your work?
Seeing a client’s relief when they know they’re fully covered — and realizing we’ve made a real difference in their life — is incredibly rewarding. I also love watching my team (especially other women) grow, succeed, and hit milestones they once thought were out of reach.
What advice would you give to other women looking to succeed in business?
Don’t wait until you feel “ready” — start now. Be confident in your voice, surround yourself with people who lift you up, and remember that consistency beats perfection. As women business owners, we have the power to change the game by leading with both strength and compassion — and by lifting others as we climb.
How has being part of the Women in Business community impacted you or your business?
It’s been inspiring to connect with such a supportive network of ambitious, like-minded women. The shared wisdom, encouragement, and collaboration have not only helped me grow my business but have also reminded me that I’m part of something bigger than myself.
What’s a recent success or milestone you’re proud of?
We recently hit a major agency milestone — achieving one of our biggest sales months ever — while also helping multiple team members reach personal bests in their careers. On top of that, we qualified for the Topper Club with Farmers, which is a huge accomplishment and marks our third consecutive year earning this recognition. We also qualified for the Prime Agency Award for 2024 and are already working hard toward securing the 2025 Prime Agency Award. Leading a team to big wins while being a woman business owner in a competitive industry makes each of these achievements even sweeter.
What challenge have you faced as a woman in business, and how did you overcome it?
Early on, I often felt underestimated in an industry that can be male-dominated. Instead of letting that discourage me, I used it as motivation to outwork, outlearn, and outperform — and to prove that determination, skill, and integrity speak louder than any stereotype. Today, I use my platform to show other women that there’s no “one way” to lead — you can be authentic, empathetic, and still run a powerhouse business.
