In 1992 our founder Steve Reiter established a financial consulting practice with a clear mission: to guide clients through every stage of life with wisdom, care, and integrity. In 2020 as he navigated his clients' portfolios through the pandemic, he began to think seriously about what would happen to them if for some reason he were no longer around.
“I had been a solo practitioner for nearly 30 years, but I started to think about my legacy and more importantly my clients’ futures. Together, we worked toward building a secure future for them and I wanted to be sure that no matter what came down the road for me, my clients would be taken care of.”
Steve then set about growing a team that shared his vision and commitment to best-in-class service. In 2023, Steve’s vision for a team became reality when financial advisors Steve Hofmann and Jodi Bukowski joined Lifetime Financial Services. Over the next year the firm’s growth took off and it became clear that a bigger, better location was necessary to continue the quality service our clients had become accustomed to.

We’ve fielded a lot of questions about the history of our new building so we thought we’d dive a little deeper into its background.

39 E Lancaster Ave is a mediterranean revival style home that was built by Susan Tothero Gougler in 1925. Mrs. Gougler was the widow of James Isaac Gougler whose family the small town of Gouglersville was named after. The property was once part of a harness racing venue known as the Shillington Speedway.

Although mediterranean revival style homes did have a burst of popularity in the United States during the 1920s, no one knows why Mrs. Gougler chose to build the home in this style as it was more often found in southern states where the climate was warmer.

For years the house was passed down through the family until it was sold in the 1970s to Dr. Joel Greene, an allergist. The building’s more recent use was as a Medical Spa until our owner Steve Reiter purchased it in 2024 as part of his vision for the growth of Lifetime Financial Services.
