Gen Z is quickly becoming a larger share of the rental market, and they’re paying attention to their credit.
According to a recent study, 94% of Gen Z renters said they would be more likely to pay rent on time if their property owner reported rent payments to the credit bureaus.
That’s the highest percentage of any generation surveyed.
This presents a significant opportunity for property managers. As more Gen Z residents enter the market, rent reporting can become more than just a resident benefit. It can also serve as a powerful incentive for on-time payment behavior.
When residents see a direct financial benefit from paying rent on time, everybody wins.
