The Grant County Farm Bureau Ag Student of the Month for October is Tripp Teague. Tripp is the son of Jeremy and Johni Beth Teague. He is a 9th Grader at Sheridan High School. He is a 2nd-year member of the Sheridan FFA Chapter, where he has competed on the Electricity and Food Science Career Development Event teams. Tripp is also a proud member of the Southern Junior Rodeo Association (SJRA) and the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA). He recently competed at the 2026 NJHSFR in four events this summer in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Tripp is a strong Christian and a member of Grace Church in Hensley, and regularly attends Cowboy Church during weekend rodeo events. He is devoted to the outdoors and the agriculture industry through lifelong involvement in land and cattle herd management as well as equine science. He looks forward to continuing his post-secondary education in the agriculture industry one day. Please join us in congratulating Tripp!

Roanee Kate Harper is the Grant County Farm Bureau Ag Student of the Month for September. Roanee is the 14-year-old daughter of Chad and Katie Harper and lives on her family’s beef cattle ranch in Prattsville, Arkansas. She is active in both 4-H and FFA, the Arkansas Junior Cattlemen’s Association, American Junior Simmental Association, American Junior Angus Association, and the American Junior Maine and Chi Association. Roanee Kate is a young advocate for agriculture and the cattle industry. She spends most of her time in and out of the show barn and ring. She competes with her cattle on many different levels from county fair to nationals shows. She also competes in livestock judging, livestock skills, and public speaking competitions. Roanee Kate’s long-term plan is to become a cattle embryologist and focus on breeding show cattle.

The results are in for the 4-H apron contest. Eva McGinley placed first showing off her creativity and sewing skills. While Miley McGinley did a fantastic job and finished second. Everyone did a wonderful job showing off their sewing skills by designing and sewing an apron for the contest. A special thanks goes to Farm Bureau for sponsoring this contest.

The Grant County Farm Bureau Ag Student of the Month for May is Miley McGinley. Miley is a 16-year-old sophomore at Sheridan High School and has been actively involved in 4-H for 11 years. Her primary 4-H project area is Healthy Living, where she enjoys encouraging healthy habits and positive lifestyles among youth. She is also a member of the Sheridan High School soccer team.
Miley is a member of the Grant County 4-H Teen Leaders Club and was recognized in 2024 as an Arkansas 4-H Teen Star. She has also served as 4-H State Camp Counselor and participated in the 4-H poultry chain and broiler projects at the Grant County Fair.
In addition to her school and 4-H involvement, Miley is an active member of the Harmony Baptist Church Youth Group. She has served as a Camp Counselor at Boggs Springs Kidz Camp and participated in Love on Laytayette and City Reach mission Trips.
Miley also enjoys photography and videography and is exploring marketing as potential future career path. Please join us in congratulating her.
