The results are in for the 4-H apron contest. Eva McGinley placed first showing off her creativity and sewing skills. While Miley McGinley did a fantastic job and finished second. Everyone did a wonderful job showing off their sewing skills by designing and sewing an apron for the contest. A special thanks goes to Farm Bureau for sponsoring this contest.

The Grant County Farm Bureau Ag Student of the Month for May is Miley McGinley. Miley is a 16-year-old sophomore at Sheridan High School and has been actively involved in 4-H for 11 years. Her primary 4-H project area is Healthy Living, where she enjoys encouraging healthy habits and positive lifestyles among youth. She is also a member of the Sheridan High School soccer team.
Miley is a member of the Grant County 4-H Teen Leaders Club and was recognized in 2024 as an Arkansas 4-H Teen Star. She has also served as 4-H State Camp Counselor and participated in the 4-H poultry chain and broiler projects at the Grant County Fair.
In addition to her school and 4-H involvement, Miley is an active member of the Harmony Baptist Church Youth Group. She has served as a Camp Counselor at Boggs Springs Kidz Camp and participated in Love on Laytayette and City Reach mission Trips.
Miley also enjoys photography and videography and is exploring marketing as potential future career path. Please join us in congratulating her.

The Grant County Farm Bureau Ag Student of the Month for April is Harper Gillis. Harper is the 17 year old son of Kelly and Bryan Gillis of Redfield. Harper is a senior at Sheridan High School. He is enrolled in the SHS Animal Systems Pathway and is part of our Career Practicum in Ag program, where he spends 3 classes a day working in the agriculture industry for high school credit. Harper is also on the SHS Golf Team. After graduation, Harper plans to attend Pulaski Tech, majoring in Construction Management. Please join us in congratulating him.
