Our Community Credit Union (OURCU) is a not-for-profit financial cooperative in the state of Washington. It is OURCU’s mission to develop lifelong relationships by empowering our members, employees, and communities with personalized service to live their best financial lives. Founded on December 3, 1941, OURCU started its financial services journey as Simpson Employees Federal Credit Union. In Was

hington state, known for its booming timber industry, many seasonal loggers faced challenges in securing bank loans due to the unpredictable nature of their work. In 2006 the Credit Union changed its name to Our Community Credit Union to better reflect a growing and diversified member base. A few years later in 2010, following a successful membership vote, OURCU transitioned from a Federal Charter to a State Charter, expanding the field of membership to include anyone living, working, or going to school in Washington State, or an immediate family member of a current member, can become a member of OURCU. Unlike banks, credit unions are owned by their members and don't aim to make a profit. As a member, you are part-owner of the credit union! While we may offer similar products to a traditional bank, our philosophies and operational structure are completely different. When you open a savings account at OURCU, you become a member and an owner. This means you benefit directly from the OURCU’s success, allowing the Credit Union to offer better rates, lower fees, and higher savings returns. Community is the Credit Union’s middle name. OURCU is committed to supporting each community we serve through volunteerism, charitable donations, and free financial education tools to help each community member live their best financial life! OURCU enjoyed the chance to connect with fellow community partners and test our skills on The Ridge's go-kart track! Thank you Economic Development Council of Mason County and everyone at Ridge Motorsports Park for making the event a success!

WOW! Mason County’s business community showed up in full force last night! 🎉

Our Annual Business Appreciation Event at Ridge Motorsports Park was an incredible evening of connection, celebration, and appreciation for the businesses, organizations, and partners investing in Mason County’s economy.

We enjoyed delicious catering from the Ridge Café, an incredible air show from Skydive Kapowsin, some friendly competition on The Ridge’s go-kart track, and one lucky guest even walked away with a brand-new Traeger grill! And, of course, every guest got to enjoy a special-edition MasonEDC ice cream created by Olympic Mountain Ice Cream and hand-packed by yours truly. 🍦

Most importantly, this event would not have been possible without our incredible sponsors. Thank you for investing not only in this event, but in Mason County’s business community and economic future.
