One of the things I've learned over the years is that no two people picture retirement the same way. Some want to travel. Some want to spend more time with their grandkids. A friend of mine told me a story too good not to share.

A few Sunday’s ago, he and his wife were trying to figure out if the Reds played at 1:10pm, 1:30pm, or 4pm that day. As they went back and forth their 16 year old son piped up with “why don’t you just ask Joe?”

He was a bit taken aback. “What are you talking about son? Joe is a good friend, but I am NOT calling him on a Sunday morning just to ask when then Reds are playing. I will look like an idiot.”

His son looked equally as confused. He paused for a moment, smiled, and pointed to the refrigerator. Hanging on the door was Dinergy’s 2026 Reds Calendar, complete with Joe’s smiling face.

His son laughed and said, “Joe knows!”

After a pause his whole family got a good chuckle out of it. But it does prove a good point – sometimes it IS a good idea to just ask Joe!
