As families gear up for a new school year, our team at Stahl Insurance Group is reminding everyone to review a few key safety tips before kids head out the door.

Walking to school? Encourage students to use sidewalks, cross at designated crosswalks, and make eye contact with drivers before crossing. Walking with a group adds an extra layer of safety.

Riding a bike? A well-fitted helmet is essential. Students should ride with traffic, stop fully before crossing, and choose routes with lighter traffic whenever possible.

Taking the bus? Kids should wait several feet back from the curb, board only after the bus has stopped completely, and avoid walking in front of or behind the bus without clear communication with the driver.

Getting dropped off? Drivers should follow posted school zone speeds and drop-off procedures, and never pass a bus that is loading or unloading.

Teen drivers? Review the basics together—seatbelts for everyone, no devices while driving, and always following the speed limit.
