Today, we want to celebrate a very special lady who has meant so much to so many people over the past 35 years.
Please help us congratulate Mary Catherine Whitson, better known to all of us as Cathy, on her retirement after 35 years of serving State Farm customers.
Cathy began her State Farm journey in March 1991, working for State Farm Agent Skip Chandler. Over the years, she had the opportunity to work alongside several State Farm agents:
• Skip Chandler — March 1991 to Sept. 2004• Jim Walters — Sept. 2004 to March 2007• Larry Renfroe — April 2007 to Sept. 2013• Gary Welker — October 2013 to June 2026
Skip and Carol Chandler were Cathy’s mentors, helping her learn the insurance business and obtain her state insurance license.
One of the things Cathy believes has guided her throughout her career:
“Treat customers how you want to be treated. Make sure they walk away understanding their coverage. They will remember how they were treated and will send their family and friends to you.”
Cathy, your years of dedication, your knowledge, your friendship and the care you showed to our customers have left a lasting mark on all of us. You have been such an important part of the heart of these offices, and things simply won't be quite the same without you.

Congratulations on your retirement, Cathy! We are so thankful for you and so very blessed to have had you as part of our State Farm family.
