Watch out!

🚨🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ 🚨🚨

The Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office has received multiple reports of scammers calling residents while falsely claiming to represent the Sheriff’s Office or a federal agency.

These callers are telling people they:

• Have an outstanding warrant

• Missed jury duty

• Must make an immediate payment to avoid arrest

⚠️ THIS IS A SCAM ⚠️

Please remember:

🔹 The Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call you to request money for a warrant.

🔹 If a warrant has been issued, deputies will respond in person.

🔹 Bonding is handled through the proper legal process — NEVER over the phone.

🔹 Federal agencies do NOT call individuals demanding payment for warrants or missed jury duty.

PROTECT YOURSELF:

✅ Do NOT give out personal or financial information over the phone.

✅ Do NOT send money, gift cards, wire transfers, or electronic payments to unknown callers.

✅ Hang up immediately if you receive one of these calls.

If you have concerns about a warrant in Dunklin County, you will be taken into custody and processed through the jail before any bonding options are considered.

If you receive a suspicious call, contact the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office directly.

🚨 Phishing Alert: Don’t Fall for This Apple Scam 🍎🚫

Scammers are posing as Apple Support using texts, phone calls, and even real Apple emails to trick you. Here’s how it works:

📩 You get a text saying someone tried to access your Apple ID
📞 Then a “support agent” calls, claiming your account is compromised
📧 You receive a legitimate Apple support email with a case number
🔐 They ask for your security code to “fix” the issue

⚠️ Don’t do it! Sharing that code gives scammers full access to your Apple account.

Protect yourself:
✅ Don’t reply to unexpected Apple texts or click links
✅ Verify directly at Apple’s official website or support line
✅ Be wary of urgent messages pushing you to act fast
❌ Apple will never ask for your passcode or password
