Paperless billing...good, except for one bill type - your credit card bill.

Make sure you get your credit card bills in the mail (ESPECIALLY if you carry a balance).

With a paper bill, the charges are typically more extensively listed and it is all right there for you to address. With an electronic bill, you typically see your payment amount and due date...and then you have to dig further for charges.

A paper credit card bill is a psychological thing. Having it there in front of you will increase your awareness of your spending and will (hopefully) encourage you to take steps to eliminate that balance!

Some people are currently reviewing their health insurance options, while others will soon. One of the biggest considerations? Drug costs.

Two resources I want you to keep handy:

1. Check out Cost Plus Drug Company, a Mark Cuban venture. They are offering some really great discounts on many drugs and even offer a medication search feature on their website. See if it makes sense to use them when evaluating pharmacy options! Site link: https://costplusdrugs.com/

2. RxGo is a medication discount card which is expanding rapidly in the areas of medications offered and pharmacies accepted. When comparing the cost of insurance drug copays versus out-of-pocket costs combined with a discount, give RxGo a try and see what makes the most sense. It is available as a smartphone app or as a card to print out and show to your pharmacy. Here is my custom link: www.rxgo.com/356/app

As always, feel free to message me with any questions!

I recently had someone ask me about credit freezes and credit locks. I spoke about this briefly in the past in a post, but here were some key things to note:

1. Credit freezes are with the 3 major credit reporting bureaus. You contact them directly and they are free to do. I personally prefer them over a credit lock, which usually costs money.

2. Credit freezes won't affect your credit with your current card/loan companies.

3. You can freeze your child's credit, as well. Contact the 3 credit reporting bureaus and inquire into the process.

These were the 3 items I covered in that conversation and thought were worth sharing, again.

Is it too PREMATURE to think about what retirement income will look like for you...specifically regarding Social Security?

No. What you probably want to do is go ahead (even if you are in your 30s or 40s) and create your online Social Security profile and see what is being recorded for your highest income-earning years. That way, if you think corrections need to be made, you can do so now versus scrambling when it is time to receive that income in your older years.

Despite whether you believe you will even earn this money in retirement ("if it is still around") or that it will be moderately lower in the future, it doesn't hurt to be sure about what you are paying in to! And maybe check up on it every 3-4 years.

Go to the link below and create your account and see!

Great lesson. I would have probably at least bought my niece small gifts along the way while saving for her, but he definitely did something very nice for her, eventually!

Instead of giving birthday or holiday gifts, writer Danielle Cappolla's uncle tucked sums between $25 and $100 into a savings account for her.

Credit. So important in all aspects of our lives. On that point...what is the biggest mistake people make in trying to get/maintain "good" credit?

Intentionally running a balance!

It's one thing to run a balance because you have to. It's (frustratingly) another to run one thinking that will help your score by paying a little interest each month.

Don't do this.

Instead, pay your balance in full each month. Try not to charge more than 30% to your card. And make sure you are budgeting how much to charge to your card!

Follow these easy steps as part of a process to get/maintain "good" credit. Better credit = lower finance charges = more savings for you to put toward your goals!!
