Storage radishes are growing nicely. Sumi soakers from Irrigation & Farm Tools for Market Gardens has been a fantastic asset for us this past summer for germinating seeds in 100 degree temp. Now that the plants are well established and night temp has cooled off significantly everything is thriving!

Good beautiful morning Franklin! Who is ready for a market day that is not 100 degrees?!

This weeks lettuce harvest did great despite the past several weeks with heat indexes over 100 degrees. Lettuce does not like to grow here in our West Tennessee summers compared to fall/winter and spring. But we pull it off every summer. Even after 10 years of growing lettuce in the summer I’m still amazed we pull it off.
Franklin Farmers Market and online orders will be loaded with nutrient dense Certified Organic lettuce this week!

Future fall carrots has popped through the surface of the soil! It’s a brutal time of the summer to germinate carrots seeds but the late September / early October gift of fresh carrots for market will be sweet!
Sumisoaker from Irrigation & Farm Tools for Market Gardens is one of the important collection of tools needed for consistent and even water for August carrot germination.
