Rates, Rates Rates!!! On the heels of commentary last week from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, the market is currently pricing in a 100% chance of a rate cut at every Fed meeting over the next year, with a 34.5% chance of a 50bps cut priced in to the next 5 meetings.
Powell’s commentary has not suggested they will be aggressive in cutting rates, so the market reaction continues to be based upon exuberance rather than data. The bottom line? The Fed has finally drawn a line in the sand, effectively reversing rate policy so expect multiple rate cuts over the next 12 months. Great news for sellers/buyers!
