IMPORTANT UPDATE,
Regarding FHA Transactions during hurricane Irma:

Although HUD Handbook 4000.1 indicates that inspections may not be performed until after the Incident Period (end date), FHA issued a waiver on September 19, 2017 allowing damage inspection of impacted properties in Florida to be completed beginning on September 19, 2017.

This means if you are currently in a FHA transaction your Lender CAN order an inspection to confirm there was no damage to the home. You will not be delayed in your financing due to the issuance of the waiver.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: For all of you that are currently in a mortgage transaction, if your appraisal has been completed prior to hurricane Irma, you may be required to have a re-inspection of the property verifying if the property suffered any hurricane damage. Additionally, There is some talk of possible guideline changes coming down from FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and USDA regarding homes located in a FEMA declared disaster area that are appraised AFTER the hurricane. I will continue to KEEP everyone updated.
