A new client came to me paying over $22,281/year in insurance premiums for their household vehicles 😳

Monday, April 27th is the official day Safeco Insurance becomes Liberty Mutual Insurance.

The good news? This is a smooth transition and very little changes for you:

✔️ You’ll continue working with us just like always
✔️ No action needed on your end

This is simply a rebrand—Safeco has been part of Liberty Mutual since 2008, and now everything will operate under one name moving forward.

This is why I love what I do.

This morning this beautiful bouquet showed up for me from a new client. 💗

Backstory: Last week she showed up at my office in a panic "My homeowners insurance carrier is cancelling me 02/01 after 30+ years with them....I've called everyone and I am not sure why I didn't just call you first".

She was with a large "military member" carrier who is notoriously great at their claims handling with "we'll take care of it" and they do....

Where they clearly fail is to let the consumer know that though they can and will take care of it, it may negatively impact them.

Advisory is huge especially when the financial impact of filing an $1,800 water claim may mean that after two other concurrent water claims your insurance may go from a few thousand to almost $5k.

Having an independent agent who can tell you the potential impact of how a claim might affect you down the road is huge. Keep in mind that most captives are required to file if you call them regardless of payout - this is known as a Zero Loss Claim and what that means is that it will show up on your reporting paid out or not.

I am great at what I do and I love helping my clients. If you are not working with an independent agent to protect your most valuable assets and risks, you should be.

📣 Emergency Insurance Relief for Washington Residents Affected by Flooding 🌧️💧

Washington State Insurance Commissioner Patty Kuderer has issued an emergency order to support residents impacted by recent flooding. The order is in effect Dec. 15, 2025 through Feb. 12, 2026 and applies to all property and casualty insurers in the state.

👉 What this means for policyholders:
✅ A 45-day grace period for insurance premium payments, with late and reinstatement fees waived.

✅ No policy cancellations for nonpayment unless you request it.

✅ Nonrenewal notice period extended from 45 to 120 days before your policy expires.

📌 The order also allows out-of-state adjusters to help speed up claims and includes guidance for insurers and residents on handling flood damage inspections.
