I'm feeling incredibly grateful after spending a beautiful weekend at Roche Harbor celebrating my teammate Jack's wedding.
What made the day even more memorable was the journey to get there. Just hours before the last ferry was scheduled to depart for the island, my flight was canceled. What could have been a missed celebration somehow turned into a reminder of what it means to have a truly supportive "village."
The incoming ferry was delayed, traffic to Anacortes was manageable, my kids were amazingly cooperative, and Jack even lent his car to help with our pickup. Thanks to everyone coming together, we made it with five minutes to spare before the wedding began.
It was a wonderful celebration of Jack and Isabelle, and an even greater reminder of how fortunate I am to be surrounded by such thoughtful, generous teammates and friends.
It really does take a village — and I'm blessed to have one of the best.
