This is unacceptable. Filling out a request for a TIN and did NOT want to answer this question. Yes they are married. No they are not "husband and wife."

The IRS has had almost 6 years to change this to, "Are the members married to each other?"

The smallest of small businesses may be able to avoid hassling with additional documents, worksheets and payroll/tax forms.
