It's been a year of vindication for Mark Cuban. The owner of the Dallas Mavericks quieted a lot of the critics who said he was a loudmouth who didn't know how to run a basketball franchise. Now his team is the best in basketball.

Though there is a lot being written about the debt rating downgrade I tend to agree with Warren Buffett who feels that there is a lot of over-reaction about the downgrade by S&P. The other two main ratings agencies have not downgraded the U.S. debt, as of yet. Buffett is optimistic about the potential for economic recovery while seemingly pessimistic at the inaction/inability of lawmakers to understand what they are doing.
