Assets pledged to fossil fuel divestment now surpass $5 trillion according to a new report. That’s almost twice the amount measured 15 months ago. Across the world, nearly 60,000 individuals and 688 institutions including universities, foundations, financial institutions, faith-based organizations, and the entertainment sector have committed to divesting some kinds of oil, gas, and coal companies.
