Our Story

Betty Hedrick has been managing investments for over 30 years. She started her career in finance in the commodity and futures markets in 1984 and transitioned to her own firm in 1986. Not only does Betty understand risk in all of its forms, she also understands opportunity, prudence, and the financial markets. Betty became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) in 1989 and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) in 2003. She earned a BA from Macalester College, St. Paul MN, with a postgraduate degree in health care administration from the University of Minnesota. Betty's work in the social and health services brought her a keen appreciation of the three most important toolboxes we build throughout our lives: our health, our finances, and our personal values and belief systems. She believes our life goals encompass what we do, who we do it with, how we do it, and the legacy we choose to leave—to our families or to the community. One of Betty's main goals is to help people make the best use of their financial toolbox. The crux of Betty's job as your financial planner is to help create a framework for decision-making to show possible and probable financial outcomes of various choices. It is important to live life fully today while paying for yesterday and protecting tomorrow. Decisions about how much to save for retirement, which job or career path to pursue, what kind of housing and how to fund it involve more than just using a calculator to determine future values; a good financial planner keeps the pathway for sound decision making clutter free, helping clients recognize the noise from the news. Betty maintains a holistic perspective towards risk management and disciplined pursuit of investment opportunity within each client’s unique circumstances and life goals.
