Structure
The composition of the leaves of the plant includes:
- CBD. Cannobioids, are not psychoactive compounds, act on the body gently, do not cause addiction and "high".
- THC. The psychoactive component, to a lesser extent, has the listed beneficial properties.
In medical cannabis, CBD prevail over THC, because many countries legally use the medicinal properties of ma*****na to treat dozens of diseases: oncology, seizures, eye diseases, etc.
Anesthesia
Studied at a scientific level. Understanding the mechanism of cannabinoid-induced analgesia has been improved through the study of:
- cannabinoid receptors;
- endocannabinoids;
- synthetic agonists;
- synthetic antagonists.
Cannabinoids anesthetize by means of supraspinal, spinal and peripheral modes of action, almost equally affect the descending and ascending pain paths. Cannabinoids also contribute to analgesia by triggering an anti-inflammatory mechanism.
Anxiety and sleep
It is believed that the endocannabinoid system plays a central role in regulating mood and the disappearance of unpleasant memories, as well as in modulating the sleep-wake cycle. They learned to use this light and so important action in many diseases for medical purposes. Cannabidiol (CBD) is “responsible” for a mild inhibitory effect, sedation, and a decrease in anxiety.
Appetite stimulation
Many animal studies have previously shown that delta-9-THC and other cannabinoids have a stimulating effect on appetite and increase food intake. It is believed that the endogenous cannabinoid system can serve as a regulator of eating behavior. Such therapeutic use of ma*****na is especially useful for cancer patients after chemotherapy and / or with the development of cachexia (severe exhaustion), when appetite is completely absent, and a lack of nutrients further aggravates the severity of the patient's condition.
Antiemetic and effect
Cannabis has a pronounced antiemetic effect. In fairness, we note that an overdose of ma*****na can be complicated by the syndrome of indomitable vomiting, when a person simply "tears to shreds." H**p with an increased amount of THC can cause cyclic vomiting, which cannot be treated until it is completely canceled.
Cannabidiol is effective against gram-positive bacteria and its strength is comparable to Vancomycin or Daptomycin. So claims Science Daily.
Antitumor effect
Another little studied by scientists, but repeatedly proven in practice, medical benefits of ma*****na is the antitumor effect. In India, there is incontrovertible evidence of the treatment of benign and oncological neoplasms with ma*****na, but in the USA and Europe, such therapy is treated with caution. But, this is only a matter of time, many countries are financing projects aimed at deepening knowledge in this area.
Studies on animals are actively carried out, where it is easy to achieve growth retardation and metastasis of cannabis-sensitive tumors: Lewis lung adenocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, benign neoplasms, etc.
Abstinence treatment for drug addicts
In countries where cannabis is officially approved, it is included in the treatment of drug-dependent patients to reduce the intensity of withdrawal symptoms. Substances quickly reduce muscle, spastic, headaches, which improves the condition of the addict.
In China and the USA, they are increasingly offering to treat addiction with ma*****na. In particular, the use of ma*****na for medical purposes allows virtually no effort to abandon methadone and buprenorphine. This technique exists in New Zealand and Canada.
Impact on male and female reproductive organs
Until recently, it was believed that smoking cannabis negatively affects reproductive function. But detailed studies in Denmark yielded unexpectedly opposite results. Scientists have concluded: when using small or medium doses, ma*****na activates s***matogenesis (s***m production), and with abuse it has the opposite effect.
