I have adequate life insurance, a Will, and a Power of Attorney agreement for me and my family. I have a fully funded Emergency Fund Account, with a minimum of $5,000 in the account. (I have achieved this goal!)
#3. I have an automatic ‘hardcore’ savings plan in place, where I am saving a minimum of 30%-50%+ of my income every month in my pre-tax retirement accounts. (I have achieved this goal!)

4. I have at least $250,000+ combined in all of my pre and post tax investment accounts. So I’m still working toward this goal!)
On August 8, 2018, I turned 50 years old and realized that I had very little to show financially for my 24 years as a K12 educator. To put it bluntly, I have made a lot of ‘dumb’ financial decisions with my finances! So I made the decision to position myself to achieve financial freedom as quickly as possible! I’m still on my own journey, and I’m definitely not where I want to be, yet! However, I’m not where I used to be! So far, I have saved and invested over 70K, and I’m looking for like minded K12 educators, who are also on the late start journey to financial freedom.
