Medicare beneficiaries.
Did you know that it’s against Medicare marketing guidelines for someone to call you without your permission?
So, if you don’t want calls don’t search for options on the internet, and definitely don’t put your phone number in. Those inquiries are then sold to insurance agents and it constitutes permission to call.
There are a couple of exceptions.
1. You have called and left a message for that agent to call you back.
2. You’re an existing client. This applies to the agent and the insurance company.
A loophole in the rules. I can contract with a call center to make calls. If they get someone that is interested they then forward that call to me. That counts as an incoming call for me so bypasses the rule of no cold calling (since I did not call).
It’s horrible I know. I’m not even on Medicare and I get 5-6 call a day about my Medicare.
Only way this will ever get fixed if Medicare receives so many complaints that they cannot ignore it.
