Social Security beneficiaries can expect a 3.6% increase to benefits in 2027. As such, the average Social Security retiree benefit will increase from $2071 to $2146 per month or about $75 in January 2027. The maximum amount of earnings subject to the Social Security withholding will increase from $184,500 to $192,300.

The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program begins July 1 and offers an 18-month timeframe for eligible beneficiaries to access covered GLP-1 medications at a fixed $50 monthly copay. The $50 fee does not count toward a patient's deductible or maximum out-of-pocket costs. Covered drugs include Foundayo, Wegovy and Zepbound.
