Role Summary

We are seeking a Personal Lines Insurance Agent to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, servicing, and retaining a book of personal insurance clients. The ideal candidate is driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping individuals and families make informed insurance decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Sell and service personal lines insurance policies, including home, auto, umbrella, renters, and other individual insurance products.
Conduct client consultations to assess risk exposure and coverage needs.
Prepare customized insurance proposals, explain policy options, and guide clients through the selection process.
Manage policy renewals, endorsements, claims support, and ongoing client communication.
Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and stay up to date on underwriting guidelines and market offerings.
Meet or exceed sales and retention goals through proactive outreach, client education, and follow-up.
Utilize agency management systems to document interactions, manage tasks, and ensure timely responses.

Qualifications

Active Property & Casualty insurance license required (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
Minimum of 1 year outside sales experience.
Strong knowledge of personal insurance products and carrier offerings.
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in insurance software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Commensurate to experience

If Ernie we’re still with us, this would be the Big birthday week celebration. It started on October 31 with Pat Murphy’s birthday, then RPM, “Ryan Patrick,”somewhere in there was Don Ciola and finally end up celebrating Ernies birthday today! I believe it originally started with Ernie tying a black balloon to Pat Murphys mailbox when they were neighbors or vice versa. That’s a story for Pat to tell! We would usually all get together and celebrate at a local restaurant. One year in particular we went to the Hofbrau House. Food was ehh but watching Don Ciola dance in lederhosen was worth the trip! Ernie really loved his people and lived to celebrate. He loved life to the fullest and shared his joy. He was a generous, caring man. I worked with him for many years and the world is a lot less fun without him! Even when he was sick and I would call him to see how he was doing, he would joke about it with me. He never let on how sick he really was.
I just wish he were here for this election! I could just hear him and Pat Murphy going at it across the office! Lol that was always a show! Ernie the die hard democrat and Pat the unruffled republican sparing all day! I don’t know how many of you know but when Bill Clinton was being impeached, Ernie sent him a telegram to the Whitehouse, it read”lawyers, guns or money, whatever you need!” Only the boss would do that. Of course he was referencing the Lawyers, guns and money, the s—- has hit the fan! That may have been in the telegram! It hung on the wall in the office till Sandy hit. Even when we lost the office for a while, he would sneak into Sea bright and pull files from the office so we could report claims. He was a good insurance man! He always told me that he started his own office so he could come to work in shorts, Hawaiian shirts and flip flops. Whatever the reason, he was great at the business and I am still earning an income from the profession he taught me 27 years later!
