ASL Loan Officer favorite loans. Of all the loans out there, which one is my favorite? I think VA. Why? VA has 100% financing which means there is no down payment required. It also does not have PMI which is incredible. I come from a military family so I love this loan. What is your favorite loans?

Long time ago I took all the ASL classes in college. I fell in love with the language, culture and people. I was all in! When I was finished with college, I was not sure how to use all this new information about ASL, Deaf Culture, Deaf Community, etc. I took a job in the mortgage industry and just started working. One day, I received a client who was Deaf. I loved the experience from my end of helping and communicating. My Deaf client was so appreciatve of my ability to communicate in his language.

This got me thinking, how do I use this skill in my business. My niche is ASL and know Sign Language. So, I thought how do I brand myself? I thought of two different branding: The Signing Loan Officer and the ASL Loan Officer. Being hearing myself, was not not sure which would "stick" so I tried both.

After a year of having both domains and branding myself, I found the hearing world would read my brand quickly and misread as the Singing Loan Officer and would ask me, "what do you sing", will you sing for me?" OMG, I am not a singer.. So, I see this as a MISS.

However, ASL Loan Officer, connected with the right audience. My Deaf clienetele which later made sense to me as ASL (American Sign Language) is their official language. So, I kept ASL Loan Officer as my brand and continued to use this branding.

Today, I am fortunate enough to work with many realtor partners within the Deaf Community, whether they are Deaf, HH, Coda, have Deaf family and friends who connect me to their Deaf clients. They are looking for a Loan Officer who can communicate to them in their language. It's one of my most priveleged calling and I am absolutely in love with assisting the Deaf Community get educated and knowledge about mortgages, financing, credit, and overall financing education. I am licensed in multiple states to cater to and service my Deaf clients around the country.

So, if you are interested, google, "The ASL Loan Officer" and see what comes up. Thank you for your trust and partnerships to all my realtor partners and clients. This is truly combining my destiny careeer with my passion.

Common mistakes made my first time homebuyers.

Not shopping around for a good lender who they can communicate with and trust. Some lenders aren't transparent with their communication.

Going out house shopping before they are pre-qualified. Most seller will not allow a showing offer without the buyer being pre-qualified through a lender.

Assuming you need 20% down payment. We have programs with zero down as well as some for as little as 3% down payment. Make sure to connect with an educated loan officer who has your back.

Trying to guess the timing of when to purchase a home based on the housing market. Many people miss out of amazing opportunities when they wait. There are so many strategies so consult with both your Realtor and Lender.

Buying based on emotional or over your price range. Make sure you discuss all details with your loan officer.

Thank you for watching. Cindy J Hallas - Altitude Home Loans - Phoenix, AZ Cindy Hallas ASL Loan Officer

ASL Loan Officer discussing Pre Qualification

Please make sure to discuss your pre-qualification with a professional Loan Officer who can help guide you and educate you on the best way to get qualified to purchase a home. We look at four major areas: Income/Job. Credit/Debt, property and assets. Do all of these make sense for a lender to take the risk of financing?

Did you know?? September is National Deaf Awareness Month? We celebrate and advoctae for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Community!

The Opening of first public school for the Deaf on April 15, 1817. The founding of Gallaudet University on April 8, 1864 and appointment of Gallaudet University's first deaf president on March 13, 1988.

Our Deaf Community has come a long way and I am so proud to help and serve. I fell in love with Deaf history, culture and their language back in college. I took every ASL (American Sign Language) class available and was fascinated by everything within the culture and language. As a visual learner, it fed into my natural skills and I was hooked.

I am so fortunate to work within the Deaf community always striving to be better. But advocating and making sure my clients have access to all the information.

Lucky to be part of this. Thank you to all my Deaf friends, collegues and mentors who continue to support my journey in improving my skills and overall couriosity with you world.
