Every year, the Scott Lions Club heads out to Louisiana Lions Camp in Anacoco, LA to cook a meal for the campers. This was the first year I’ve been able to make the trip, and it could not have been a better experience.

Quoting a friend of mine, “The Lions Club is doing God’s work.” It’s simple opportunities like this that make me so proud to be part of this organization. Serving others and giving back to our community is what being a Lion is all about.

A few years ago, Cheif Chad Leger and I partnered together to create Scott Community Charities, Inc. with one goal in mind… investing back into the students and families of our Scott community. With the support of local businesses, civic organizations, and community leaders, one of our favorite initiatives each year is recognizing students who go above and beyond among their peers through leadership, character, service, and positive influence.

This year, in partnership with five local schools, Scott Community Charities proudly awarded scholarships and recognition to outstanding students who have made a lasting impact on their schools and fellow classmates. Each school utilizes its own unique process to identify these exceptional young leaders.

We would like to sincerely thank the administration, faculty, and staff at each school for allowing us to once again be part of honoring these amazing students. The future of Scott and Acadiana is bright!

Today I had the opportunity to speak with about 50 graduating seniors from Acadiana High during their annual Adulting Day.

We talked about insurance policies, proper coverages, and some of the real-life things nobody teaches you until you need them 😄

Always glad to help the next generation feel a little more prepared for what’s ahead. Wishing these seniors all the success as they get ready for their next chapter! 🎓👏

Late post! Last week, we celebrated our office Above and Beyond Award….help us congratulate Jessica!

Our office has been placing a special focus on serving our customers. We created this award to recognize team members who go above and beyond the call of duty to serve our customers and our community.

Jessica has been a great example of consistency, teamwork, and stepping up whenever it’s needed most. Her positive attitude and willingness to help both our customers and team do not go unnoticed. We are proud to recognize her this quarter…congratulations, Jessica!
