Every one of us has been touched by cancer in some way, whether through family, friends, coworkers, caregivers, or survivors.

That is why we were proud to support Relay For Life of Schenectady County this past Saturday evening.

Anita and Denise represented 1st National Bank of Scotia as part of a team that raised more than $2,700, helping fund cancer research, patient support programs, and advocacy efforts.

As an event sponsor, we were honored to be part of this special community gathering at Frog Alley Brewing and grateful to everyone who contributed through our Friday, May 22 Dress Down Day fundraiser.

Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and supported this important cause.

Together, we are helping bring hope to those affected by cancer and working toward a future without it!

June is a great time for a cybersecurity checkup.

Protecting your personal information starts with a few simple habits:

> Use strong, unique passphrases for every account. Longer is better. A memorable sentence with 12 or more characters is more secure than a short, complex password.
> Clean up your devices. Delete unused apps, remove old files containing sensitive information, and make sure your software is up to date.
> Review your social media privacy settings. The less personal information you share publicly, the fewer opportunities cybercriminals have to target you.

A few minutes of prevention today can help protect you from identity theft and fraud tomorrow.

On Tuesday, May 19, staff joined Scotia Rotary members at the Rotary Circle in Collins Park to help with seasonal cleanup efforts.

Together, they worked to re-mulch and enhance the Rotary Circle, a scenic and well-loved landmark in the heart of Scotia.

Buhrmaster Farm provided the mulch used for the project, helping make the refresh possible.

It is always meaningful to take part in projects that support and strengthen the local community.
