Medicare covers inpatient rehab in a skilled nursing facility after a qualifying hospital stay that meets the 3-day rule. The 3-day rule for Medicare requires that you are admitted to the hospital as an inpatient for at least 3 days for rehab in a skilled nursing facility to be covered. You must be officially admitted to the hospital by a doctor’s order to even be considered an inpatient, so watch out for this rule!!

1st carrier meeting for 2027 plan changes in the books. Nevertheless, I will not be able to talk about plan specifics until October 1. Soon, you will receive a letter from your insurance company called ANOC explaining any changes to your plan in 2027. This is VERY important! READ that information!! Please reach out if you want to compare plans during annual enrollment (Oct.15 - Dec. 7).

I came across this “what to do when a loved one passes” pamphlet. People are overwhelmed with grief when their significant other passes and then they have to deal with all the administrative things…. It’s hard to figure out where to start. This sums it up nicely.

Had a bit of a distraction today and went down to Carmel, IN to hear all about the 2027 Medicare trends. It will stay interesting - to say the least. I can’t wait to send out my quarterly newsletter next month preparing you all for annual enrollment. But first, power!
