To all of our customers, friends, and family who became part of my family: It is with a very heavy heart, and very bittersweet, that I tell you, the Peterpank has been sold. Our last day will be the end of December. December 17, 2015 will start our 58th year in business. That is a damn long run for any family, to own, run, and operate, any business, especially a Diner. Like any business, or life in general, there were many, many, many GREAT times for us here. And we also had our share of heartaches as well. In 58 years, there was only 1 time the diner was closed for anything over a day or two, and that was when we had the fire in 1978.
For all the aggravation, and time that had to be put into the diner, we would not have changed a thing. The restaurant business is a hard life, but it is also something you do, that is in your blood. You either LOVE it, or HATE it. Well I guess I have LOVED it, cause I know nothing else. Nor would I have changed a thing. The work and hours are long, but the REWARD, is meeting all the GREAT PEOPLE I have met along the way. I would have DIED if I had a job, where i had no contact with people. And honestly, I don't think that there are many people who are as LUCKY as I am, to have made so many LIFE LONG FRIENDS, from my job. I truly love, and care about all the people I have met here, and those people who have befriended me, and made my life, SO MUCH BETTER. I thank you all, for being in my life, and for letting me be in yours. ( LOL this is where the TEARS are starting)
To, all the police, in Sayreville, South Amboy, and Old Bridge, who have saved my ass so many times, during fights at night, etc. - maybe I never really told you people, Thank You. Or I never told you enough. If is wasn't for you guys, this little skinny ass PO**CK would have been HISTORY along time ago, Thank you guys for always being there for me. That being said, that also goes to all the customers who came into the diner, and saw I was in trouble, and helped me out. Again if it wasnt for the bouncers, and just regular customers, who helped me out during these fights, there is no way I would be here today. So to my diner freinds, who are now my freinds and helped me out, Thank You.
The diner has given me a lifetime, of memories, and more importantly, ( this depends on who you ask) a lifetime of stories. Even if I sometimes REPEAT those stories. There are not many people who are as lucky as I have been, to have had such an interesting job, never knowing what was going to happen, or who I was going to meet. So to everyone who has befriended us, stuck with us, cared for us, Thank you. Because you are all so special to me and my family. I can go on here forever, but I am getting a little to emotional. So let me end with this, THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING. I just don't know what other words to say at the moment. WOW, I am at a loss for words, that does not happen often. I hope to stay in touch with all of you, and you all mean so much to me. -Alex
