💜 Recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day 💜

Today, the team at Guthrie Community Credit Union proudly wears purple ribbons in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day.

In partnership with the Bradford/ Sullivan Drug & Alcohol (SCA), our team members at both of our offices came together to help raise awareness, reduce the stigma surrounding substance use and overdose, and remember the lives that have been lost.

Our employees also made donations in support of this important cause and are proudly wearing purple ribbons as a visible reminder that overdose can impact individuals, families, and entire communities.

International Overdose Awareness Day is an opportunity to remember without stigma, support those who are grieving, recognize those working toward recovery, and encourage conversations that can help save lives.

At Guthrie Community Credit Union, we believe being part of a community means standing together for the issues that affect our neighbors, friends, and families.

Managing your finances can be tricky when you’re juggling school and living on your own. These quick tips can help make sure you get started on the right foot.
1. Create a budget to track your monthly income and spending.
2. Spend as little as possible on books – try buying used or finding a copy online.
3. Limit your borrowing, whether it’s through a credit card or student loans. The less debt you get, the easier it is to pay off later.
4. Use your student discount! Many places, especially in college towns, offer savings for students. Don’t be afraid to ask if you don’t see a discount listed.
