⚓ Gulf Coast boat owners: Hurricane Isaias is approaching. Please take action now.

Your boat can be repaired or replaced. You can’t. Please put your safety and your family’s safety first, and follow local evacuation orders. Never ride out a hurricane aboard your boat.

If you have time, these steps can help protect your vessel:

🚤 Haul out or move to a designated hurricane hole or secure marina if you can do so safely and early.

🚤 Double up lines and use chafe protection, with extra slack for surge.

🚤 Remove loose items: sails, canvas, electronics, bimini tops, cushions.

🚤 Close seacocks (except cockpit drains) and make sure bilge pumps and batteries are in good shape.

🚤 Take photos and video of your boat, equipment, and trailer today, since it’s the best record you can have.

🚤 Keep your policy documents handy, along with your boat’s registration and our contact info.

🛟 When Did You Last Check Your Life Jackets?

Life jackets spend a lot of time getting tossed into compartments, exposed to sun and moisture, and forgotten about until they're needed.

Take a minute before your next trip to give yours a quick inspection:

✓ Check for rips, tears, or damaged straps
✓ Make sure buckles and zippers work properly
✓ Look for mildew, fading, or deterioration
✓ Check that the life jacket still fits properly
✓ If it's inflatable, inspect the CO₂ cylinder and inflation mechanism

If a life jacket is damaged, worn out, or no longer fits, it may be time for a replacement.

Stay comfortable. Stay prepared. And most importantly — stay safe on the water.

Happy Independence Day, America! 🇺🇸

This year marks an incredible milestone...250 years of freedom, independence, and adventure. From the nation's first harbors to today's lakes, rivers, and open waters, boating has always been part of the American story.

As you celebrate with family and friends this Fourth of July, here's a boating safety tip you may not have heard before:

💡 Turn on your navigation lights before sunset...not after.

Our eyes take time to adjust to changing light, and other boaters can spot you much sooner if your lights are already on during dusk. Those extra few minutes of visibility can make a big difference in avoiding collisions.
