Ear Research Foundation Research, Education, and Community Care. The Foundation provides professional conferences, as well as informational community sessions since 1983.

Through our mission of research, education, and community care, the Ear Research Foundation has helped thousands of individuals with hearing loss, balance disorders, and hyperacusis, since 1979. In 1979, the Ear Research Foundation was established in Sarasota, Florida by President and Founder, Dr. Herbert Silverstein. The Foundation was created out of his desire to continue research and developmen

t, and to contribute to medical education in a private setting in the field of Otolaryngology. Research and clinical studies have been coordinated by Ear Research Foundation in partnership with Silverstein Institute to discover new diagnostic technologies and treatment for ear care, balance disorders, and tinnitus. The Foundation's Fellows program is one-year interactive clinical and surgical post-residency program, which 48 physicians have participated in since 1983. Hearing screenings, treatments, and surgical procedures and devices provided to those in need, all through our community care programs; Help Us Hear and Hearing Screenings. Help Us Hear provides financial assistance to individuals who need hearing devices. Our community care program, gives hearing screenings to preschoolers annually.

As we celebrate Dr. John Peleman, Fellow #52, and our current fellow on his final day with the Ear Research Foundation, we want to recognize his dedication, hard work, and commitment to advancing the field of Otology and Neurotology.
Our fellowship program has a long-standing tradition of training the next generation of leaders in ear and hearing care. Over the past year, he has gained invaluable clinical and surgical experience while contributing to our mission of excellence in patient care, education, and research.
