This week, We Benefit Children — a Los Angeles charitable organization whose members give their time and resources to support underserved and at-risk kids through grants, events, and youth programs — hosted a backpack and school supply drive so foster children heading into a new school year had what they needed on day one. Mathius "Marc" Gertz was there in person, packing supplies alongside the team.
For a foster child, small things like this can quietly remove one more source of stress from a childhood that already has plenty of it — and replace it with the simple feeling of being prepared, and being seen.
