Since our last post was for Father's Day (we're great at working and not great at posting) following it up with my Aunt Margaret's idea of what to do with all of those Father's Day and other day ties...make a quilt! Uncle Devon had quite the collection, always looking quite dapper. She's making sure these ties are used, she's doing a craft that engages her body and mind, and the result is a tangible tribute to her beloved husband. ♥️

Quilts - or ties for that matter - may not be your thing. But there may be other items you or your loved ones have tucked away that can be brought into the light for use / display. Can give them a second purpose. Or can give them away to be purposeful for someone else. A much more interesting existence than stuck in the back of a closet or a box in the attic.

Thank you, Betty, for your light and inspiration to use the energy you have, smile as often as you can, and Just Keep Moving in this human race.

"It is with heavy hearts, but with fond memories of her infectious positivity, that we share that Betty Lindberg has passed away at the age of 101.

Betty was more than a member of Atlanta Track Club — she was a shining light in our community and a living example of what it means to keep moving.

Her impact reached far beyond finish lines and records. She showed all of us — at every age and ability — what is possible.

She carried herself with humility, and brought warmth, laughter and an unmistakable wit and energy into any room she entered or race she started.

To honor Betty, let us carry her spirit forward — show up with kindness, believe in what’s possible at every age and, above all else, just keep moving."

It's a doggone shame when someone provides shabby service. Use our list to distinguish a Pro from a No, and you may end up with Best in Show!
1) Are you licensed & insured?
2) Would I be working with a company employee, subcontractor, or both? If a subcontractor, are they covered under your company's insurance?
3) What is the professional background of the person I'll be working with? How long have they been doing this? How were they trained to do this?
4) How long have you been in business?
5) What specific services do you offer? What are the specialties of the person I'll be working with?
6) Do you mark up for purchases?
7) How do you do your pricing for service?
😎 Do you accept credit cards? Is there an added charge for their use?
9) Do you have a time minimum? Maximum?
10) Has the person I'll be working with done projects like the one I'd like done? What are some examples?

Finding the right fit for your project can put you in a great mood. You might even go for a nice walk and get a treat! 🐾 It can also save money, time, and aggravation. 😎

From U2's, "Iris (Hold Me Close)." Bono writes in his book, "Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story,"...."This song by a fifty-four year old man wailing for his late mother." Mother's Day this year falls on Bono's birthday, which is also the birthday of his first born child.

Blessed Mother's Day to you and all moms from this fifty-three year old woman still wailing for her late mother, Kathryn Elaine Meck Stewart (1946 - 2007). Thank you to Bono, U2, and other artists who express in ways we cannot. And thank you to the mothers who raised them. "The star, that gives us light."

On Earth Day and every day: Save your money and the planet by not buying organizing products. The marketing for these products is enticing. Seems like our life will be "in order" if things are tucked away. It won't. Things need to be processed, decisions need to be made, and things need to be purposefully placed for the level of contentment those product ads and "perfect" pictures are conveying. As a wise team member of ours said while we were helping an overloaded working mom, "Not everything can go in a bin."

Here are a few project shots of existing products that were found to be not needed once things were processed and repositioned. Clients describe feeling lighter, externally and internally. Look at all of this plastic. We don't need it in our homes. We don't need it in our oceans. And these products can be expensive!

There are times when a product is a true solution to an organizing or productivity problem. We can save time, money, energy, & reduce waste by first seeing if something we already have can be repurposed as the solution. If not, then we can consider buying new. But only for the current need. And not because a store or ad influenced us to.

May we enjoy the space we live in and the Earth we live on. 🌎
