CoreLogic reported that home prices rose 0.4% in June and 3.4% year over year. The year over year reading moderated from 3.6%, but remains at sustainable and very meaningful levels for wealth creation. CoreLogic forecasts that home prices will appreciate by 5.2% in the year going forward, which is very strong, but slightly lower than the 5.6% forecasted last month.

Pending Home Sales, which measures signed contracts on existing homes and is a good leading indicator for Existing Home Sales, were up 1.1% in May. This was slightly stronger than expectations looking for a 1% gain. Pending Home Sales are now down only 0.7%, improved from down 2% year over year
