How many times have you been in an accident and as soon as you got out the car the person drives off hit-and-run and you didn’t get no information.
If you do not have a dash camera in 2023, then you are being very naïve. The dash camera is the number one eyewitness available.
Before you even exit your vehicle, you also want to turn on the video on your smart phone. This way you have two cameras recording in case someone drives off and you can later on zoom in and get the license plate. And a hit-and-run. If you do not get the license plate or some type of video, your insurance company will not open up the uninsured motorist and possibly deny your claim.
In the video you want to make sure you get the drivers of the other vehicle and passengers, damages to the property, and most importantly, the audio interaction between both parties. How many times have you had a conversation with someone after an accident and then they change the story later on. People lie cameras don’t.
