In May of this year, I had the opportunity to attend Edward Jones' invitation-only Momentum Conference. I felt it was important to take time to reflect on the experience and begin putting what I learned into practice before sharing about the event.
While I was honored to qualify for Momentum for the third consecutive year, the greatest value came from the opportunity to learn from others. Over several days, I heard from firm leaders, industry experts, and valued colleagues on topics including wealth management, financial planning, serving business owners, technology, AI, and the evolving needs of clients.
Throughout Momentum, I was reminded that while the industry, technology, and the markets continue to change, trust and personal relationships remain at the heart of what we do. I left the conference feeling energized by new ideas and industry insights that my team and I have already begun incorporating into how we serve our clients.
One of the more memorable highlights was a VIP tour of The Star, the Dallas Cowboys' headquarters and training facility. While I can't say I normally root for the Cowboys, I am a big fan of excellence. Seeing where the team trains, touring the war room, viewing the Super Bowl trophies, and learning about their history was fascinating. It was especially meaningful after having the opportunity to meet and hear Emmitt Smith speak at a previous Momentum conference.
The visit reinforced a lesson echoed throughout the week - sustained success rarely comes from one big moment. Whether in professional sports or financial planning, it's built through preparation, continuous learning, teamwork, and a commitment to improvement.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to have attended Momentum and even more grateful for the trust my clients have placed in me. Their trust motivates me to keep learning, keep growing, and keep looking for ways to better serve the individuals, families, and business owners who've entrusted me with their financial goals.
