Happy Birthday to our principal agent, Shane Badon! 🎉

Shane joined Sumser Insurance Professionals in October 2025 after 17 years with Erie Insurance, bringing incredible experience, leadership, and dedication to our team.

Outside of the office, Shane enjoys tennis, golf, F3, traveling, woodworking and spending time cheering on his children, Eli and Quinn, in all of their sports and activities. He and his wife, Lissa, will celebrate 15 years of marriage this July, and at home they have a beloved cat, Pilot, who’s nearly 20 years old! 🐱

If you know Shane, you also know his love for tacos — especially Chipotle 🌮 — and his favorite getaway spot, Kiawah Island.

🎉 Happy Birthday, John! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating one of our awesome team members here at Sumser Insurance Professionals!
John has been in the insurance industry since 1993, getting his start with GEICO, and we’ve been lucky to have him as part of the Sumser family for just over 3 years. His experience and dedication make a huge impact on our team and clients every day.

Outside the office, John has quite the story—he’s lived everywhere from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to Ft. Bragg, Slippery Rock, Fredericksburg, and right here in Chester, VA. He’s been married to his wife, Karen, since 1999 (they met at GEICO!), and together they have a daughter, Samantha, who lives in Fredericksburg.
He’s also a proud pet parent to Castiel, his 9-year-old shepherd mix, and Xena Princess Warrior, his black-and-white cat with a big personality. 🐾

When he’s not working, you can find John lifting weights, reading, writing, cooking, or spending quality time with his family. And if you’re ever looking for a good recommendation—he loves the cocktails at Charred and everything on the menu at Q BBQ on Hull Street!

One of his most memorable birthdays? His 40th, when Karen surprised him with a fancy stainless steel grill—fully assembled and ready to go. Now that’s a great gift!

Tammy at our Sandston office is marking 28 years—what an amazing achievement!

As a CISR/Agent, Tammy says what she enjoys most about her job is meeting new people and taking on new challenges—and it shows in the care she brings to every client she serves.

Outside the office, Tammy has been married for 38 years and is proud of her two children and one granddaughter. She also stays busy with her two Labrador retrievers, Tessa and Teeter. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her reading or spending quality time with her family.

Her favorite getaway? Relaxing in Hatteras, NC. And if you’re looking for a great local bite, Tammy recommends Roma’s and Carini’s!

What does she love most about the Sandston office? Watching it grow with new members and new customers over the years.

🎉 Celebrating 12 Years with Jamie! 🎉

This month we’re proud to celebrate Jamie’s 12-year anniversary with Sumser Insurance Professionals! As our Office Manager, Jamie plays a huge role in keeping everything running smoothly. She loves supporting her coworkers, helping the team succeed, and building relationships with the wonderful clients we serve every day.

Jamie’s journey at Sumser is one she’s incredibly proud of. When she first started, she faced some challenging times both professionally and personally. With determination and the guidance of leadership, she grew into the strong, confident professional she is today—and we’re grateful to have her as such an important part of our team.

Family means everything to Jamie. Raised in a big, hardworking family, she carries the lessons her dad taught her about dedication and perseverance into her own life. She’s especially proud of her two sons, Anthony (34) and Dominick (30), who have grown into hardworking, successful men. ❤️

Outside of the office, Jamie loves spending time outdoors, scrapbooking, and relaxing with a good movie or series. A fun fact about her? Before joining Sumser, she spent 16 years as a corporate travel agent, traveling extensively and seeing many amazing places! ✈️

Jamie says what she loves most about Sumser is the team—and we feel the same way about her. The office wouldn’t be the same without her dedication, positivity, and commitment to everyone around her.

Today we’re celebrating our wonderful Administrative Assistant, Natalia! 🥳 Natalia has been with Sumser Insurance Professionals for about a year and a half, and although she came to us from a healthcare background, she has jumped into the insurance world and learned so much in such a short time—it’s been amazing to watch!
Originally from Florida, Natalia moved here with her husband, their two daughters, and their three cats—Toulouse, Marie, and Frankie. 🐾 When she’s not keeping things running smoothly at the office, you’ll likely find her catching the newest movie at the theater or enjoying the outdoors. Her perfect Saturday? A drive to Shenandoah to explore a new hiking trail, followed by relaxing at a local brewery. 🍿🌄🍻

Today we’re celebrating someone who has been a true cornerstone of Sumser Insurance Professionals for 12 years—our Office Manager, Jamie!

Jamie brings dedication, heart, and a whole lot of wholesomeness to our team every single day. When she’s not taking great care of our clients, she’s busy enjoying what matters most—family. She’s the proud mom of Anthony and Dominick, and an especially proud grandmother to little Zalila, who clearly has her wrapped around her finger (as it should be).

Outside the office, Jamie is all about making memories—whether it’s scrapbooking, taking photos, traveling to new places, or just enjoying the outdoors. And if you ever need a reliable pet sitter, she’s your go-to—she treats every animal like family.

Fun facts: She’s originally from Uniontown, PA and a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She has a soft spot for classic hometown favorites like pierogies and chipped ham. She loves to eat at Chuy's Tex-Mex and shop at Gabe's (if she has extra time and patience).
