I’m a big proponent of supporting local businesses, it can be easy to forget that this mindset is still applicable even with something like a mortgage loan. Yes, obviously there is no way around paying the lender interest and certain lender fees, but the question is how much are you also supporting a local family? I pay my broker a flat fee from my commission - there isn’t a long line of managers who all need their “piece of the pie”. This is a great example of one of the various unique advantages that I have access to through lenders that we work with.
