Citizens Bank of the South - Sandersville Community Bank In the early 1960's, a group of local citizens collected their efforts and resources to establish a bank.

This bank, like others, was chartered to serve the community. It distinguished itself by carving a niche in the consumer/retail business. In 1965, Citizens Bank of Washington County received its charter and set up operations. The Bank helped individuals with loans; it also helped start-up companies and small businesses with their financial needs. While the community's economy grew, so did Citizens

Bank. In 1971, the Bank opened a south-side branch office, the first branch in the history of the community, at 818 South Harris Street. The Bank's continuing growth necessitated the construction of a larger building. By May of 1997, construction of the new building had been completed. The Bank moved from its West Haynes Street location, which had served the community and the Bank well for many years, to its present location at 132 South Harris Street. In November 2006, the Bank opened a loan production office in Statesboro, Georgia, and established the trade name of the location to be Citizens Bank of Bulloch County. The LPO quickly became a full service branch in early 2007. In September of 2008, branch operations were moved to their new permanent facility located at 425 Commerce Drive on the bypass. Following the company's 50th anniversary, the Bank introduced a common name to set themselves apart from others. On January 1, 2016, Citizens Bank of the South became the official trade name for use in all current and potential markets. Citizens Bank of the South continues to be committed to its loyal customers, prudent growth and to personal and professional service. In an effort to better serve the community, the Bank maintains convenient banking hours with friendly and efficient service. Schubert Named Corporate Vice President, Baldwin County Market President at Citizens Bank of the South

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer David Brooker announces the promotion of Lynde Schubert to the position of Corporate Vice President, Baldwin County Market President. This decision follows the recent retirement of William (Bill) Jones, who led the Milledgeville office since its opening in 2017.

Schubert brings more than 25 years of industry experience to her expanded role at CBOTS. She began her banking career in loan processing and operations, progressing to Loan Officer, Assistant Vice President, and Vice President with area banks. She has a broad understanding of federal banking regulations and programs, internet banking implementation, web maintenance, and branch management. Best known for meeting the diverse needs of her loan customers and employers, she joined the CBOTS team in 2024. Since that time, she has been a vital part of the bank’s growth and development — not only in Baldwin County, but across all markets.

A graduate of the Georgia Banking School at the University of Georgia more than a decade ago, Schubert continued her education in finance through programs offered by the Community Bankers Association and Central Georgia Technical College. Slated to become President of the Exchange Club of Milledgeville this June, her résumé reflects a strong commitment to volunteerism. She currently serves as President of Circle of Love, Inc. A true servant leader, she has also been involved with area Chambers of Commerce and Rotary Club. A 2024 graduate of the Putnam Leadership class, she has invested significant personal and professional time in Greene and Putnam counties as well.

Schubert explains, “I am grateful for the leadership opportunities that have prepared me for this professional role at CBOTS. I look forward to working alongside our team to serve the customers, businesses, and families who make this community so special.”

Brooker added, “Lynde’s promotion signifies our continued commitment to being a strong community partner and an excellent choice in banking for Milledgeville and the surrounding area. Recommended by Bill in 2024, she has proven her dedication to our team, vision, and growth strategy. She understands our commitment to prioritizing customers and communities. Not only will Lynde lead Milledgeville well, but she will also be an asset to our executive management team bank wide.”

Born and raised on Lake Sinclair, Schubert enjoys spending time with her daughters, lake life, and beach visits to St. Simons Island.

She adds, “This community has always been home to me. Being born and raised in Baldwin County, with deep roots here, I care deeply about its success. I am committed to building strong relationships, supporting local growth, and ensuring Citizens Bank of the South remains a trusted partner. I look forward to leading with integrity, purpose, and a continued focus on serving well.”
