Be on alert for possible freezing rain tonight followed by possible severe thunderstorms Sunday afternoon. Georgia weather is wild!

There has been a lot of (valid) confusion regarding our previous post about tomorrow's conditional severe weather threat across portions of central Georgia -- we hear you.

Attached to this post is a graphic that highlights the large area of uncertainty hinging on how our cold airmass ("wedge") erodes as the warm front lifts northward tomorrow afternoon.

WE ARE STILL FORECASTING SIGNIFICANT AND POTENTIALLY CRIPPLING ICE ACCUMULATIONS ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTH AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. An Ice Storm Warning is in effect for nearly all areas along and north of I-20 until Monday.

What remains to be seen is how much we warm tomorrow afternoon. If the cold air retreats further north, we could see the chance for thunderstorms extend as far north as the dark green shaded area. If the cold air lingers, or extends further south than we currently expect, areas within the magenta oval will likely be too cold and stable to see thunderstorms or severe weather.

Please continue to take necessary precautions to finalize your preparations for the significant ice accumulations expected overnight tonight if you haven't already. We sincerely apologize for any confusion, but we want to make sure residents within the yellow shaded area realize that there is a chance for them to see a damaging wind gust (and perhaps a tornado) while areas further north are dealing with an ice storm.

There’s nothing like kicking off the new year with accolades after a year of hard work! Auto-Owners is represented in 26 states by more than 28,000 agents from over 6300 agencies. We are proud to announce that Sammons Insurance finished 8th in life / annuity production out of all of the agencies associated with Auto-Owners across the country, which also places us 2nd in Georgia! While that’s impressive, one of our agents finished in the top 20 out of all of the agents across the country. Ashley Barfield Wilds finished 18th in life / annuity production throughout the entire country, placing her 3rd in Georgia. These are two HUGE accomplishments! We are thankful for all of you that trust us not only with your life / annuity needs but ALL of your insurance needs. Here’s to reaching new heights in 2026!

Sammons Insurance is seeking someone to fill a CSR spot at our Sandersville office. Duties would include answering / routing phone calls, filing, greeting customers, taking payments, and any general office duties. This position also has opportunity for advancement to an agent / sales rep role for motivated and ambitious individuals. Insurance experience / knowledge isn’t required but is a plus! Must be able to multi-task, be organized, and have communication skills. We offer 401(k), life insurance, PTO, and several paid holidays.
