Home equity is the difference between your property's current market value and the amount you owe on loans secured by the home.

As you pay down your mortgage, you may build equity over time. Changes in your home's market value can also affect how much equity you have.

Understanding your equity can be helpful when considering refinancing, home improvements, or selling your property.

Have questions about your home's equity and how it may factor into your mortgage options? Reach out to All California Mortgage to start the conversation.

Before applying for a mortgage, take some time to review your credit reports and make sure the information is accurate.

Look for things like accounts you don’t recognize, incorrect balances, duplicate accounts, or payments reported incorrectly. If you find something that doesn’t look right, addressing it before you apply can help prevent surprises later in the mortgage process.

Not sure how your credit may factor into your homebuying plans? Talk with your loan officer before you get started.

Ever wonder what’s actually in your monthly mortgage payment?

It’s usually more than principal and interest. Depending on your loan and how your account is set up, your payment may also include:
🏡 Property taxes
🏡 Homeowners insurance
🏡 Mortgage insurance, if applicable

And remember, other housing expenses, such as HOA dues, may need to be factored into your monthly budget separately.

Understanding the full picture can help you plan your budget before you start shopping. Questions about your numbers? Send us a message, and we’ll walk you through it.

Moving money between your own accounts might seem harmless, but during the mortgage process, it can create additional documentation your lender may need to review.

Lenders may need to verify where funds came from, particularly when those funds will be used toward your home purchase. Multiple transfers between checking, savings, or other accounts can make that paper trail more complicated than it needs to be.

If you do need to move money, keep records of the transfer and talk with your loan officer if you’re unsure how it could affect the documentation needed for your loan.

A little organization can make it easier to account for your funds as your application moves through the process.
