Tip of the day!
A big thing to remember is that not all personal property is created equal when it comes to your homeowners and renters insurance. There are limits to certain personal property items, jewelry being the prime example. It varies from company to company, but it’s usually about $1000 per item max coverage. A few other examples are art, collectibles, silverware, basically anything that you typically see an appraisal.
Give your insurance company a call and double check that coverage for your personal property. Ask what is covered and what may have limits and find out what those limits are. The last thing you want is to have a major surprise should something happen to your most precious stuff!
