The California insurance market has changed significantly in recent years. Carriers are far less flexible about reinstating coverage than they once were, and in many cases, a lapsed homeowners policy cannot simply be picked back up where it left off. You may be required to reapply entirely, and in today's market, finding comparable coverage at a comparable rate is not guaranteed.
