QLE ⏰ QUALIFYING LIFE EVENTS

Last week after we shared that the college medical plans is a Qualifying Event (QLE) we were asked to share a refresher of all QLE's.

So here is the full list:

🎂 Aging out of parents plan at 26, or 65 to go to Medicare
💍 Change in Marital Status
👶🏻 Birth, Adoption or Guardianship of a child
💼 Change in Employment or status
🚚 Moved to a different area
⛑️ Loss of COBRA, Medicaid, other coverage
🗽 Gain of U.S Legal Status
🪖 Return from Active Military Duty
➖ Released from Incarceration
📄 Coverage mandated via court order
🏩 Loss of life

In the comments, I will also put the link to the Department of Insurance' Full List. This is the CA Department of insurance, however it is basically the same list for all other states.

DID YOU KNOW... That some colleges have an insurance policy available for your student???

❓Does your Company/ Team have students just graduating this year?
❓Is your student going off to college/ moving away?
❓Is your current medical plan an HMO?
❓Do you have the narrow network?
❓Are you/ employees paying for their dependents through your work place?
❓Did you know a student moving away is a Qualifying Event?

In our experience, we have seen some colleges have amazing full network PPO plans for students attending their schools for around $1200-$1800 for the year. Which works out to be about $100-$150 / month.

So, depending on what you/ your team is paying for their college student, there could be savings for you!

Hi All!!!
I have received many calls from busines owners and HR Managers asking about the retirement plan mandate for small businesses that goes into effect in June, who want to know their options. 14 states now have this mandate for 5 employees or more (regardless of ft/pt status) and CA and NY are first up to be fined if not in place. States also on the list are IL, MA, OR, CO, CT, NJ, WA, MD, VA, ME, VT, NM.
