Wallerce joins Cal Poly Public Safety as senior director of Transportation and Parking Services, bringing more than 15 years of experience in transportation, mobility, parking and multimodal access.

“I look forward to partnering across the Cal Poly and San Luis Obispo area communities to advance mobility and access for all,” Wallerce said.

In her new role, Wallerce will lead Transportation and Parking Services programs supporting campus access, mobility planning and service to the university community.

🚗 Mustang Move-In is almost here!

More than 9,200 students will move into Cal Poly housing beginning Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Expect temporary traffic, parking and transit changes Aug. 18-19, including road closures and changes to campus access. If you’ll be on campus, plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

🐑🚜 Campus is buzzing with summer projects that make Cal Poly even better—and some of our hardest workers have four legs!

While students are away, our sheep and goats are on the job, grazing the hillsides to reduce dry vegetation and help lower wildfire risk. Their natural landscaping keeps our campus safer, supports sustainable land management.

This work is part of Cal Poly's broader wildfire preparedness efforts and our commitment to managing the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI)—the area where natural landscapes and developed spaces meet. By reducing vegetation in these transition zones, we're helping create a more fire-resilient campus. 🌿🔥

🚍 Transit Alert: Road Closure and SLO Transit Route Detours

California Boulevard between Campus Way and the John Madden Football Center driveway will be closed to vehicle traffic June 15–July 17 for construction of a new gravity sewer line.

During the closure, SLO Transit routes 3A and 3B will detour via North Perimeter Road and temporarily serve the PAC stop.

🚌 Route 3A missed stops:
• Foothill at Casa
• California at Stafford

Temporary stop:
• PAC

🚌 Route 3B missed stops:
• California at Taft
• Foothill at Casa (Mustang Village)

Temporary stop:
• PAC

Plan ahead and allow extra travel time during the construction period.
