The best part of this job isn't closing deals, it's the relationships.

I make it a point to call my clients just to check in, not about rates, not about loans, just to ask how the family is doing, how everything is going. And what happens over time is they start to open up.

I become part mortgage guy, part advisor, part therapist honestly. People confide in me things they can't always talk to others about because we've built something real over the years.

That trust means everything to me and it's what separates a good loan officer from a great one.

Having Butters around makes everything a whole lot smoother, she is just the most comforting presence to have by your side. The mortgage roller coaster is real, and honestly, I wouldn't change a thing.

Being a mortgage broker means you are the quarterback of every deal. You are working with clients, title, escrow, insurance, pricing, and troubleshooting all at once. There is a lot happening behind the scenes that most people never see, and I just want to be transparent about that.

I love what I do. I love this journey, where it started, and where we are headed.

The reason I got into this industry was simple.

I wanted to help people who were being overcharged. People who were getting taken advantage of. People who were told no and did not know where else to turn.

I carried that with me when I started working through the hard deals. The unconventional ones. The ones that did not fit a standard box. And one thing led to another, I just kept finding ways to get them done.

Word got out. People with tricky deals started sending their friends my way. And we were able to get things done.

That is still why I do this. Every single deal.

I’ve built this business by troubleshooting the tricky loans. You know, the ones with multiple layers that I have to peel back like an onion. I find a way to get them done and that’s why my clients keep coming back with these interesting deals.

A lot of times it’s not straightforward. There are complexities that need someone to really dig in and find the solution. That’s what I do. I troubleshoot and I find a way to make it work so everybody’s happy.
