If you have auto accidents or tickets on your record sometimes sticking with your current carrier is not the best option- you could be paying more than you need to.

This does not apply to health insurance, only property and casualty. This is not a waiver of premiums rather an extended time to pay, so at some point you will have to make it up, possibly in full. Further if you tags or license has expired the carriers are not able to count that against your eligibility.

For homeowners- be very cautious with this as lenders can and will put insurance on your loan if they cannot secure proof of coverage or receive notices of cancellation.

If you are looking to cut down your premiums while you are at home, consider raising your deductibles on your home and autos. I always encourage my customers to consider 2500 deductible on their homes. For autos, a 1000 collision deductible could save hundreds a year.

If you know anyone who has lost health insurance or is having difficulty in paying for theirs, Covered CA has extended open enrollment through 6-30 and low to no cost coverage is available . The state has not yet announced any changes to the penalty for having no health insurance - the penalties range start at $600. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need help-
